Books for People Who Liked V.E. Schwab| Top 10 Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! This week’s prompt was “Books for People Who Liked Author X.” I decided to do V.E. Schwab, an author who I fall more in love with after every book of hers I read. I recently started her Darker Shades of Magic series (I finished book 1) and I think it really solidified Schwab as one of my all-time favorite authors. I still think about how the Monsters of Verity duology broke me into a million pieces.

Here are some books that give off the same vibe and/or writing style as V.E. Schwab books! Some of these I’ve read and others I got from suggestions on BookTok (by the way, go follow me if you want to be BookTok buddies!)! Let me know if you have any other suggestions for me to check out!

There it is! Ten books to check out if you are a fan of V.E. Schwab! I have had such a good time picking and finding books for this list, and I have a couple new books on my TBR! I also remembered that I need to read the sequel to Where Dreams Descend ASAP. I read Book 1 last year before Book 2 was out, and I haven’t even bought the book yet.

As I said before, I would LOVE to know if there are any other books you think would’ve gone well on this list. Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time! xx

I also did recs for people who liked VE Schwab for my list this week, though came up with ten completely different books! I have read a few of these though, I really enjoyed A Song of Wraiths and Ruin, however I really didn’t like Strange The Dreamer (Laini Taylor can be very hit and miss for me though) or The Poppy War, The Poppy War was far too dark for me! I did start both Where Dreams Descend and These Violent Delights but I wasn’t really in the mood for either at the time, so I put them down, I may go back to them one day. I really want to read both Jade City and Scavenge The Stars, I also had a Tara Sim book on my list this week, but a different one.

I will definitely be checking out your list! I love that we chose the same! Laini Taylor is a hit or miss for me too! I enjoyed Strange the Dreamer, but Daughter of Smoke and Bone was not for me. I really enjoyed Where Dreams Descend when I read it last year, but it takes a little bit to get into the world. These Violent Delights is one of the books I haven’t picked up yet, but it’s high on my TBR!!

Thank you! Ah that’s funny because I felt the opposite way, I enjoyed Daughter of Smoke and Bone but Strange The Dreamer wasn’t for me. I’m glad to hear that, I do think Where Dreams Descend is something I will enjoy, I just wasn’t in the right mood for it at the time, I’m hoping to go back and try it again. I hope you enjoy These Violent Delights then!
