Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Look at me! I am doing this two weeks in a row! I may or may not be currently avoiding other work I need to be doing by writing these updates, but I don’t care!!
Anyways, here are my What I’m Currently Reading, What I Recently Finished, and What I Plan on Reading Next.
I am excited to see everyone’s posts this week – be sure to let me know if you completed this tag as well! Also, a huge thank you to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme.

56% – I am still slowly moving through this short story collection. I am teaching it to my sophomores, so I am not rushing through it. I read five more short stories in the last week.

I literally just started Crooked Kingdom for silent reading with my students this morning. I plan on continuing this one throughout the rest of the day!! It starts up right after Six of Crows, and I am not ready to see where this book goes (I have been warned it could break me).

When the Wolf Comes Home has been a wild ride so far. I knew based on all of the reviews I’ve seen that this book isn’t exactly what you expect, so I was constantly looking for a twist. I can say the same thing: DO NOT LOOK INTO THIS BOOK BEFOREHAND. It was so fun not knowing exactly what was going on, and I am sad I had to put it down today (I forgot it at home, or I defintiely would have been reading this one instead.
I have D&D tonight, so I’m hoping to finish this one tomorrow.

I decided to DNF An Archive of Romance. It was a really cute companion novel, but I think it’s been too long since I read the duology (A Theory of Dreaming), so I couldn’t get into it. Honestly, if I ever reread the series, I might read this collection in tandem. It will be staying on my shelves, but I am not counting it towards my physical TBR.

And Now, Back to You was delivered to my house ten minutes before I was leaving for the weekend. I thought it was perfect timing, so I brought it as my read for the five-hour drive.
I didn’t get to read the entire drive, but as soon as I started, I immediately was obsessed. I loved First Time Caller last year — I gave it five stars — so I was really looking forward to this one.
I think it still ranks below book one, but I couldn’t help giving it five stars. I cried, I laughed, I swooned. Ugh, reading this was a dream. I plan on writing a more in-depth review for both my blog and bookstagram once I gather my thoughts. But long story short, I highly recommend this one.
….also, GIVE ME MORE HEALTHY COMMUNICATION IN ROMANCE!!!

While Trad Wife was more than I initally expected it to be, it still felt a little underdeveloped. A lot of the story was very predictable, so it didn’t really feel like it added anything new to the genre. There have been quite a few horror books with similar premises (critiques on gender norms and cannibalism mostly), and this one didn’t stand out to me.
I still believe books like this need to continue being published, because it will hopefilly reach a wider audience, but if you are an avid horror reader, you won’t miss out on skipping this one.

The next ARC on my list for mARCh! I really enjoyed Holt’s debut, Not in my Book (review here), and The Last Page is on my most anticipated reads for 2026.
I would love to know what you are currently reading! Leave a comment below 🙂 Until next time, xx
