Happy Wednesday everyone!
It has been a few weeks since I have updated you guys on what I have been reading!! Over Christmas break, I was sick with a terrible cold that has been going around (I thought I had strep at first, but nope, just had to deal with the sore throat for two weeks instead), so I didn’t get to do as much reading as I hoped. I managed to finish two books though, one of them being Fourth Wing, a book I thought I would never read.
Here are my What I’m Currently Reading, What I Recently Finished, and What I Plan on Reading Next.
I am excited to see everyone’s posts this week – be sure to let me know if you completed this tag as well! Also, a huge thank you to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme.

53% – I am still reading Scythe (I’m on about week four right now), but it is not because I am not enjoying the story. Scythe is the book I’ve been reading when I have silent reading days with my students. However, we have been out of school for two weeks for Christmas break and this week is Finals Week, so I haven’t had the opportunity to read in class for a long time. I wanted to read it over break, but I got extremely sick so I didn’t do much reading 😅
I picked it up again yesterday to make a little more progress, and the plot THICKENED. I am definitely more interested in picking this one up outside of school, so I might be able to finish before next Wednesday!

63% – Truly, Madly, Deeply is my third book by Alexandria Bellefleur, and so far, it might be my new favorite! The strength of this book is definitely the banter between the main two characters. I have found myself laughing at their text messages so many times, and I am having a great time with it! I will likely be finishing this one tonight.

16% – 2025 is going to be the year that I attempt to read a lot of Brandon Sanderson. I connected with someone on Instagram to do a buddy read for the month of January, and we are both slowly making some progress!! I am also tabbing this one since it is a fantasy series. I typically like to tab more complex fantasy stories so that I can easily refer to information on the world and/or magic system. So far, I am loving Sanderson’s writing and am looking forward to finishing this one.

I finally did it. I finally read Fourth Wing. I actually plan on writing a blog post about my experience reading Fourth Wing (and eventually Iron Flame) for the first time, so I won’t go too in depth here. Basically, this book had a lot of fun elements, but it really wasn’t a great political fantasy book. The dragons were fun to learn about, but the whole world / plot points were just silly to me. If I think about this book too much, I’d hate it. So, I really rated this one based on vibes.

Another book that was more political than it should have been. The Nightmare Before Kissmas was heavily inspired by Red, White, and Royal Blue, and it showed. I did enjoy the premise for the most part–the prince of Christmas and Halloween coming together was a very cute story. However, just a heads up, it was advertised to me as an enemies to lovers, and there was not even a disliking in sight. I think I would have loved this more if it was shorter, but I still enjoyed it enough that I am debating continuing the series.

Depending on how I feel about Scythe when it is over, I will likely continue on to book 2, Thunderhead, for my next YA read. I also will need to pick up French Pressed Love soon since I have the ARC, and the book releases on January 21st.
I would love to know what you are currently reading at this moment! Leave a comment below 🙂 Until next time, xx

Yay for Mistborn!! I love that series and want to re-read it this year before diving into the Stormlight Archive. Happy reading!!
