Happy Wednesday everyone! I have not given a currently reading update in a long time (and I haven’t done a WWW Wednesday since March), but I miss writing about books I am reading. It’s fun to get excited or complain about books before I reach the end–the act of reading is the best part after all!
I have two more days of work before I get two weeks off for Christmas vacation! I am excited to have some relaxing time at home, even though, sadly, I have papers to grade since semesters are immediately after school is back in session. I am also currently at 94 books for the year, and I would really like to make it to 100 by December 31st. I plan on using some of that extra time during Christmas break to reach that goal!
I am excited to see everyone’s posts this week – be sure to let me know if you completed this tag as well! Also, a huge thank you to Sam @ Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly meme.

42% – Scythe is my current YA book I am reading. Because I am a high school teacher, I always try to have a YA book on hand, especially on reading days with my classes (Wednesdays). I picked up Scythe for the first time last week after a student recommended the entire series to me. I will admit that last week, the book didn’t really grab my attention, but today?? It took all of my will power to stop whenever the timer went off. I made a solid dent in the book, and I will likely be taking it home over Christmas break to finish!

25% – It’s not very often when I am reading two YA books at once. However, I saw a student reading this last week, and the nostalgia hit hard. I have reread this book at least six times since I was in junior high, and I think it will be a book I continue to reread until I die. I assume the same will happen again, but Perks of Being a Wallflower has hit me differently every time I have read it since I have been in different stages of my life. I continue to have so much love for this book.

Last week, I finished one book: To Love Jason Thorn. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I bought Ella Maise’s books on a whim (there was a box set on Amazon for sale during Prime Days), mostly because I expected to love her writing. I have a soft spot for celebrity romances (Ava Wilder is an all-time fav for a reason), and To Love Jason Thorn has some tropes I love (childhood friends to lovers and brother’s best friend). Even so, both of the tropes were done in a way that did not work for me in the slightest, and I was left with an icky feeling when I was finished reading. It was one of Maise’s earlier works, so I am hoping there’s some improvement as I continue reading.
2 stars
DNF this week: The Boys in the Boat – No nonfiction book should be 400 pages; How My Neighbor Stole Christmas – the writing style was not for me.

This upcoming week, I will likely be starting a Christmas romance or two to get in the holiday spirit! Tis the Season for Revenge by Morgan Elizabeth and A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone are at the top of my list.
I would love to know what you are currently reading at this moment! Leave a comment below 🙂 Until next time, xx
