This week’s Let’s Talk Bookish prompts is all about “Earth Day.” This prompt was honestly a little difficult for me because I do not read a lot of books related to nature, but I did end up coming up with a couple!
The prompt: It’s (almost) Earth Day! What are some nature-y books you recommend? Are there any books you’ve read recently about climate, or about the planet in general? How about books with nature-related covers?

Let’s Talk Bookish is a bookish meme that was created by Rukky @ Eternity Books where each Friday, bloggers write posts discussing the topic of the week. Since April 2022, it has been hosted by the lovely Aria @ Book Nook Bits.

Every year when I teach my students about Transcendentalism, I make it a personal goal of mine to read more of Walden by Henry David Thoreau and essays from Ralph Waldo Emerson. This is definitely one of my nerdy hyper fixations, because I love that period of writing.

Other than that, I never really read non-fiction, and I can’t think of one non-fiction book I have read that is about Earth’s climate.
I do, however, have one fiction book I have read recently. The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury is a collection of short stories that follow people living on Mars. Basically, Earth has been dying because of how people treated the planet, so shuttles of people have been moving to Mars to start a new life. I read it with my students this Fall, and it’s stuck with me ever since. I actually just bought new copies for my classroom so I can teach it again in the future.
How about books with nature-related covers?
This was actually a Top 10 Tuesday prompt a couple of months ago (Check out my post here), but I wanted to challenge myself to find more!

Okie dokes! That’s a wrap for this week’s discussion!
Let’s chat in the comments! What are your favorite books about nature?
