Happy Monday everyone! I hope that everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Easter weekend! I am currently enjoying my last day of Easter break before I have to return back to school tomorrow.
I decided that I will start randomly generating the number of the book I choose for Goodreads Monday. All of the books I choose are found under my to-be-read shelf on Goodreads. This week, I landed on Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams.
Goodreads Monday allows you to post about what books are on your “to read” lists, the progress you have made on your current books and reading challenge, and any other Goodreads news! To participate, choose a random book from your TBR and show it off. It is hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog.
A Book on My TBR
Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams

Annie Walker is on a quest to find her perfect match—someone who complements her happy, quiet life running the local flower shop in Rome, Kentucky. But finding her dream man may be harder than Annie imagined. Everyone knows everyone in her hometown, and the dating prospects are getting fewer by the day. After she overhears her latest date say she is “so unbelievably boring,” Annie starts to think the problem might be her. Is it too late to become flirtatious and fun like the leading ladies in her favorite romance movies? Maybe she only needs a little practice . . . and Annie has the perfect person in mind to be her tutor: Will Griffin.
Will—the sexy , tattooed, and absolutely gorgeous bodyguard—is temporarily back in Rome, providing security for Amelia Rose as excitement builds for her upcoming marriage to Noah Walker, Annie’s brother. He has one personal objective while on the job: stay away from Annie Walker and any other possible attachments to this sleepy town. But no sooner than he gets settled, Will finds himself tasked with helping Annie find the love of her life by becoming the next leading lady of Rome, Kentucky. Will wants no part in changing the sweet and lovely Annie. He knows for a fact that some stuffy, straitlaced guy won’t make her happy, but he doesn’t have the heart to say no.
Amid steamy practice dates and strictly “educational” tutoring lessons, Annie discovers there are more layers to Will’s usual stoic attitude. As the lines of their friendship become dangerously blurred, Annie reconsiders her dream guy. Maybe her love life doesn’t need to be perfect—it just needs to be real.
I have yet to read a Sarah Adams book, and I feel like I am missing out! Practice Makes Perfect is one of her books that I think I will vibe with the most. I weirdly love stories involving flower shops and “practice dating” is a trope I’ve had success with in the past.
Currently Reading

First Lie Wins – 42%. This was a Book of the Month pick for me in January, but it is also my current audiobook. I borrowed the audiobook from Libby, and I have been listening to it while getting ready in the mornings!
Before I Let Go – 55%. I am reading this one for one of my book clubs! This one was my pick for the month.
The Book Thief – I am currently 65% done with The Book Thief. I am reading this one slowly since I am teaching it to my high school Sophomores. We are on track to finish the book in 2-3 weeks!
Reading Challenge Progress

ARC March wasn’t as successful as I was hoping! I did manage to read 4 books from Netgalley, but I am still hoping to reach my goal of 30 books by the end of May!
Have you read Practice Makes Perfect? What were your thoughts?
Until next time, xx

Practice Makes Perfect sounds like a good book. I read The Book Thief years ago and quite liked it – very emotional though! I’ve seen First Lie Wins around a lot on my Bookstagram feed and am intrigued by it! I want to read some more of my own books this year. As usual I’m doing pretty poorly at it, but fingers crossed for this month 😂
Have a great week!

I’m actually almost done with First Lie Wins now, and it has really started to pick up! I’m enjoying it. I have also been trying to read some more of my own books!! It’s so hard, especially with social media. I keep seeing so many books I want to read! 😂
Excellent. It’s great when a book picks up. I constantly get my head turned by other books 😂 I am hoping that this month I will be able to read some of my TBR 😂🤞🏻
