Happy Sunday everyone!
July is almost over, and it has been a full month since I’ve done a Sunday Post! I was on such a roll with posting on my blog in June, but then July came and life got a little crazy again. While I haven’t been working much, I have picked up some more photography gigs, so a lot of my free-time has been dedicated to editing.
With August right around the corner, I am now starting to think more about the school year, especially since I have forced myself to take a break the last two months. I was incredibly burnt out from last year, so I just needed to distance myself a bit. Starting August 1, I will start spending more time at the school, so I can get some lesson planning and organizing done before the actual school year!
I also have been spending more time traveling, since I finally have been taking advantage of my summer off and went to the lake for a few weekends. I went to a Band of Horses concert a few weekends ago and had a great time! I have also starting planning my elopement. Basically…there’s been a lot on my mind!
Compared to the 12 books I read in June, my July is falling a little bit short. I have read eight books for the month of July, and I might finish a book or two by the end of the month. I also have DNF’ed more books this month than usual, which is affecting the number of books I read (I didn’t finish four books, and one of them I was over 50% through).
Anyways, here is my Sunday Post (AKA my July wrap-up)!
The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received as well as share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.

Books
Never Lie – Never Lie was my second Freida McFadden book, and while I read it in one morning, I didn’t find it to be very unique. There were one or two things that surprised me, but otherwise, it was fairly predictable. Even the mega-twist at the end (which was on of the things that surprised me), didn’t really feel that crazy to me because I was just ready for the book to be over. I gave it three stars at the time, but reflecting back, I think I’m going to change it to two. ⭐️⭐️
Wild Love – I read this the exact same day as I read Never Lie, and this book was sooo much better!! Wild Love was my first Elsie Silver book, and I will definitely be reading more from her after this. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Last Night at the Telegraph Club – This was one of the reads I was most excited for, and it didn’t disappoint! I did find some of the plot to move a little to slowly, but it didn’t affect the story too negatively. I thought the writing style was great, and I will be adding a copy of this one to my classroom library! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Road – I have not disliked a book this much in a LONG time 😅 Underdeveloped characters, an underdeveloped world… it was a mess. I read this because it was my coworkers first choice for our book club, but no one besides him liked it. But don’t worry….we’re getting our revenge with a smut book next month. ⭐️⭐️
Annie Bot – Probably my favorite read of the month!! This sci-fi was phenomenal, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. There were so many parts of the story where I physically cringed, but it was because the story was exploring the human condition in such real ways. I don’t want to spoil too much with, but I recommend this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
The Break-Up Pact – Read my full review HERE – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Potions and Proposals – I sadly DNFed this one pretty early on. The two main characters were just too immature for me to enjoy it.
TV Shows
Acolyte – We finally finished season one last weekend, and we (my boyfriend and I) both enjoyed the series for the most part. I understand some of the problems that many fans have with the show because it certainly wasn’t perfect. There were some acting and dialogue choices that were questionable, but even so, I had a great time watching it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Movies
I have only watched two movies in July, and both of them were in the last five days 😂
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes – I FINALLY watched this movie after reading the book last year. I got so busy that by the time I had time to watch it, it was already out of theaters. I rented it this past week and watched it with a friend, and while this movie made me mad (mostly because UGHHH so many memories of me reading the book!!), but because it was so well done. Snow is ✨crazy✨ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Deadpool & Wolverine – The man and I had a date night yesterday (a rarity with our schedules!) and decided to see the new Deadpool movie after some axe throwing. We both had low expectations, but we ended up enjoying it! There were definitely a lot of cringe comedy scenes, but for the most part, I laughed throughout the whole thing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
IN PROGRESS
Books
A Curse So Dark and Lonely – I am currently 80 pages into my reread so that I can finally continue the rest of the series!
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams – 35% – I have been working on Stephen King’s short story collection for a while, but only because I read a story or two at a time. So far, it hasn’t had a lot of standouts, but I have only disliked one or two of the stories.
Stolen Tongues – 42% – I have only been reading this one during the day time because it has been creeping me out! I am interested in how the rest of the story goes, because I can’t imagine what else can happen!!
Crafts
Lol, I am still working on my blue hexagon cardigan, but I have quickly lost steam. It is taking so much longer than I expected, and I keep getting distracted by little, more exciting projects.
Music
Let me share with you the music I have been forcing my friends and family to listen to while at the lake 😂
