This week’s Let’s Talk Bookish prompts are all about “Balance.”
The prompt: How do you balance blogging with the rest of your life? What strategies have you found work best? Do you always feel like you can make time for blogging and books? Or do you often find yourself unable to make blogging a top priority?

Let’s Talk Bookish is a bookish meme that was created by Rukky @ Eternity Books where each Friday, bloggers write posts discussing the topic of the week. Since April 2022, it has been hosted by the lovely Aria @ Book Nook Bits.
How do you balance blogging with the rest of your life? What strategies have you found work best?
I have always struggled with balancing blogging with my life. Every time I feel like I have a handle on things, something new pops up in my life, and the blogging becomes sporadic once again.
Being a high school English teacher means my nights are often filled with grading or lesson planning. Because of this, finding time to blog every day can be a challenge. I also just finished grad school in December. Even though my free time has increased, I have been spending the last five months trying to catch up.
However, in the past few months, I feel like I have made some improvements in my ability to balance blogging with my busy life. I have been trying to implement a few strategies.
First, I have been attempting to pre-write as many posts as I can. I fell behind during the last weeks of the school year, but I am hopeful I can get ahead with summer here.
Second, I’ve lowered my goal for the number of blog posts I write every month. I pick and choose what posts I want to participate in (Top 10 Tuesday, Let’s Talk Bookish, etc.), and I only write my “Sunday Post” every two weeks. I found that I was attempting to put too much on my plate, leading me to get overwhelmed and quit.
Finally, this summer, I am going to try to plan out a schedule at the beginning of each month to be better organized. I thrive on to-do lists and structured plans, so I am implementing this into my blogging routine as much as possible.
Do you always feel like you can make time for blogging and books? Or do you often find yourself unable to make blogging a top priority?
I try my best to make time for blogging, but I don’t force myself to work on my blog if I only have time for reading. I read almost every day, and I want to keep it enjoyable, not something that feels like a job. Books are a passion of mine, and I want to keep that passion alive.
That’s a wrap for this week’s discussion!
Let’s chat in the comments! How do you balance book blogging and life? Any good advice?
