Continue readingI can’t believe 2019 is over. A lot happened this year that made it one of the best years yet. I graduated college a few weeks ago with an English Education degree, I moved into a new apartment with my boyfriend, my mental health is at an all-time high, and I read the most books I’ve ever read in a year (56!). With the wonderful year I had, I don’t have a lot of “resolutions” for the new year, but I do have some goals I’d like to reach.
Continue reading2019 has been my best reading year ever. I am currently at 53 books, passing my Goodreads goal of 50, and beating my record for books read in a year. The most I’ve ever read in a year before has been 27, so I’ve almost doubled the books. I know the reasoning is that my last two semesters of college allowed me more time to get my reading done and also, my mental health is way better than it has been in past years. Since I read a decent amount of books this year, I decided to finally do my Top 10 Favorite Books of the Year.
Not only did I read more books this year, but I’ve also expanded the types of books I read! I typically stick to contemporary or mystery, but this year I was able to read a few fantasy books. I started to love the genre and I hope I’m able to read even more next year!

Continue readingDaniel is a sixteen-year-old drug dealer and he’s going to jail. Then, suddenly, he’s not.
A courtroom intervention. A long car ride to a big country house. Other ‘gifted delinquents’: the elusive, devastating Rachel, and Alex, so tightly wound he seems about to shatter.
So where are they? It’s not a school, despite the ‘lessons’ with the headsets and changing images. It’s not a psych unit—not if the absence of medication means anything. It’s not a jail, because Daniel’s free to leave. Or that’s what they tell him. He knows he and the others are part of an experiment. But he doesn’t know who’s running it or what they’re trying to prove. And he has no idea what they’re doing to him.
I found this tag on Emma’s Chapter and just had to do it. I struggled with a few of these but it was fun to think about what and how I read and how much I’d be willing to change.
Continue readingThis year has been one of the best reading years of my life. I’m one book away from reaching my Goodreads goal of 50 books, which is a lot for me! I usually average 20 books a year. While I’m extremely close to my goal, I want to surpass it as well.
Here are five books I really want to read before the year is over!

I can’t believe that we’re already to the halfway point of 2019. I feel like this year has been going by so quickly and now I’m only 6 months away from graduating college!
While I’ve caught up on a lot of reading this summer, I always tend to read less during the school year since I have a lot going on. BUT, since I’m student teaching this fall (I’m so nervous, omg), I’ll have most of my evenings free so I hope I’ll be able to read a lot more during my final semester of college.
Continue readingThis topic was a prompt for one of the Top 5 Wednesday‘s in May 2019. I wasn’t back into blogging at that time, but I loved the idea so much I had to do a post on it.
I have loved reading since I was 8 years old. As a 22-year-old now, I obviously have changed my reading habits in the last 14 years of my life. But, these are the things that stand out to me most when I think about bookish concepts that I changed my opinions about.
Summer has been here for a month now (am I a little late on this? yes.) For the time being, I am done stressing over college for a while and get to relax in the sun as much as I want (just kidding, I’m working 40 hour weeks and it’s been cloudy and windy for weeks; thanks North Dakota)! I still have a little over a month left of summer and still have tons of things I’d like to do before my Junior year of college begins. Here are some things I’d like to do: Continue reading
The end of the school semester is closing in and with that, I’d love to increase the amount of non-school related books I read. I’m trying to cut out a lot of social media use as well as Netflix/Hulu binge watching and to replace those things, I’m instead going to start reading. My goal is 30-40 minutes of free reading a day, after I do my homework for the day. I’m trying to be a lot more productive with my life as well as read some of the books on my endless TBR, and with that, here are the books I’d like to read this spring before mid June.
